I run into people all the time who have these copyright misconceptions. They are all based on an element of truth, though, so a great follow-up post could debunk the myths and provide the true guidelines.

An interesting article indeed. Infact the myths are global in nature and are usually spread over to various subject matter of copyright. The most common being 'The client owns if he/she pays for it.

I think the subject matter of the article is very interesting, and I have run into a number of those myths myself during practice. However, if you were to provide a very brief explanation of the correct law that disproves these myths, the article would be much more useful and compelling.

In theory, LegalZoom is a great way for people to take care of their affairs. The problem is, people don't understand how this can cause more problems in the long run. There was a recent article in the Wall Street Journal on LegalZoom and other online offerings for estate plans. The focus of the article was the ease of use rather than the completeness of the estate plans they ordered. I reviewed one from LegalZoom and it was woefully lacking in many areas. So I am trying to compete against LegalZoom and offer a more comprehensive alternative by an attorney at http://www.coloradoetrust.com/.
